Resides on the quiet hillside, SOPHNET. is not necessary the easiest store front to locate, even by Tokyo standard. Recess from street view, the store is located on the fringe of the Harajuku neighborhood. So secluded in fact that even most Tokyonites would have a difficult time point it out to visitors. However, whether it was by design or just a coincidence, the location plays perfectly into SOPH’s brand concept since being on the fringe allowed its creative director, Hirofumi Kiyonaga, and his labels (SOPHNET., F.C.R.B., Uniform Experiment) to easily blur the definitions between each genres of clothing.

With the opening of Nike’s newest Sportswear door in Tokyo, Japan the Nike Japan team worked with long time Nike collaborator Hiroshi Fujiwara and his fragment design team on a number of products including a four pack of Zoom Tennis Classics, it appears that the two companies have also collaborated on some apparel pieces as well in addition to the shoes. We are currently aware of a collaboration hoodie and tee between the two, where the hoodie features a Nike logo on the front matched with a fragment logo on the sleeve, the t-shirt features the fragment logo and “NSW 150″ on the front. We believe that both hoodie and t-shirt were released exclusively at the Nike Sportswear store in Tokyo in very limited quantities. via Yahoo Japan

The Levi’s Fenom x mastermind JAPAN collaboration jeans have finally dropped in Japan, with a large number of Levi’s Fenom and mastermind JAPAN followers lined up outside a select number of stores in Japan, the jeans were sold out within a couple hours. It seems that now the only place you can pick these up will be Yahoo Japan auctions or various other resellers. This pair of denim features the mastermind JAPAN logo where you would normally see the Fenom logo, in addition to some use of Gold, as well as Swarovski crystals. via jungle23

A few weeks back we gave you a preview of this pair of Levi’s Fenom Amethyst jeans and now they have finally hit Levi’s Japan retailers. This particular pair is part of the Disco Collection which features various stones on the back of the jeans, for this pair Amethyst stones are used, hence the name. The jeans will come in a Levi’s 207 and 505 cut. Aside from the Amethyst stones being different than other Levi’s Fenom Disco jeans, many of the other details remain the same such as the contrast stitching and use of selvedge denim. BEINGHUNTED has just finished an interview with Slam Jam’s Luca Benini, the interview comes right after Nike collaborated with Slam Jam on a pack of four different Italian Leather Air Force 1’s that brought a lot of attention to the Italian store that is a pioneer in the world of streetwear/sneaker boutiques. Scheduled to open its door at Noon today, Tokyo time, Nike and its Nike Sportswear division will open its second stand alone flagship, Nike Sportswear Store Tokyo.  Constructed out of a network of raw concrete truss and reinforced corrugated steel panels.  Conceived by architectural legend Tadao Ando (安藤忠雄), the structure originally housed the temporary store front for Japanese design store, hh style, and designer Giorgio Armani’s Armani Casa label.  Its prism-like exterior, clad in black, is the most recognizable building on the Harajuku (原宿) Cat Street promenade, with some liken it to the stealth bomber.  The interior is also very distinctive.  A spacious maze-like layout straight out of M.C. Escher’s illustration. Each of the multiple levels showcase a product class of Nike Sportswear and is interconnected with others through a set of staircase.  The Nike Sportswear Store Tokyo will feature the Nike iD Studio, which will provide shoppers exclusive footwear designed by Nike’s long-term creative partners.  The flagship will also be the only location in Asia to carry the complete range of Nike Sportswear NSW Collection, in addition Nike products exclusively to this store.
